Taking tracks and blending them together... The art of the DJ.

Been a long time since I broke some beats

Hey people! Look at this… it’s a brand new mix. Yup, quite fresh, this one. Good smell, nice weight, firm, bouncy beat.

I like to call this one It Goes in Cycles. It’s a tad eclectic, jumping around genres and eras as it damn well sees fit. Pfft, kids these days.

Anyways I suggest you download it.

“But why? Why should I waste my precious bandwidth on this file of yours?”

Huh? Oh. Wait, what? This is hardly what I would call a waste my friend! Why, with this mix you can do all kinds of things!  Listen to it when your blue for a quick pick-me-up! Show it to your friends and they’ll think you’re the bee’s knees! Listen to it at work and get fired! Wait, no don’t do that… Show it to that special someone and you’ll be all kissy face in no time! Play it for your kids to make them shut up! Put it on your desktop so your dorm mates will think you’re a real hipster because you listen to a DJ no one has ever heard of!

Yesserie, not much this miracle mix can’t do, I tells ya.

Fun Facts:

  • 11 of these tracks are direct vinyl rips, one a free internet download, five ripped from a Cds and three I have no idea where they came from but they are somehow on my computer.
  • Most of this mix was made during my free time at work in Japan.
  • This mix was originally just an attempt to re-create the On The Floor At The Boutique (Fatboy Slim) version of  “Because I Got It Like That”. The stutter in the middle (“Never work a day in my life…”) was shamelessly ripped off from that album. The stutter at the end (“You see Afrika was the one they loved“) was shamelessly made by me.
  • I wanted to include the song “Dooms Day of Rap” (Hijack the Terrorist Group) in this one but the software I am using simply could not map the beats to it, even when I placed each beat marker by hand. It was replaced by “Prepare for the Battle“.
  • ŸI finished the mix at 11:00 am, but I have no internet at work, so I had to wait until 6:00pm, when I got home, to upload the thing. It drove me nuts.
  • Since this is the first mix I have uploaded in a while, despite the fact I have a ton just sitting around waiting to be uploaded, I will get on more entries right away. Keep on eye on this spot!
